Bethany organizes and particiaptes with outreach projects held at Bethany and in the community along with The Pretzel City Parish! All are always invited to join us! 

National Night Out! 
We collect donations of school supplies to hand out at the West Reading National Night Out event at the West Reading Playgound the first Tuesday evening of August each year. 

Food Pantry! 
Food pantry is part of our outreach ministries. Please see the Food Pantry tab for more information. 

Good Friday Witness Walk!
At 11AM on Good Friday, a group of all ages carrying a cross and some dressed in Biblical costumes, walk through the West Reading Community to share God's gift of love and to remind everyone what Good Friday and Easter is all about. Jesus Christ is Risen! Alleluia! 

Nursing Homes! 
We collect items (tissue packs, pens, small note books, etc) to provide to residents at a local nursing home. 

Refresh Berks!

Mobile shower unit to serve our housing-insecure neighbors in Berks County. 
We collect items to support Refresh Berks. Bethany members also volunteer with the mobile shower unit. 
Their weekly shower schedule is on their website and FB. 

Hospitality Center! 
The Pretzel City Parish started this program in January 2026. Volunteers help with this outreach ministry program that is held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church (corner of Perkiomen Ave. and 16th Street in Reading). Volunteers serve breakfast, hot and cold food and of course coffee.
