The COVID-19 virus can be spread by droplets being projected into the air through talking, coughing, sneezing, and even singing and playing wind instruments. Singing and playing wind instruments can project droplets even further into the air. Until it’s safe again for public singing, our worship services will not include singing or wind instruments and no in-person rehearsals will be held.
Music is an important part of our worship life. Our worship services will continue to include instrumental music in different ways. Instrumental Gathering music will begin about 10 minutes before our worship services. Please use this time to gather safely and quietly as we prepare for worship. We will sing praises together to God again!
A Joyful Sound!
God gave us the wonderful gift of music! Come share the gift of music!
Third week of September thru mid-May:
Please join us Sunday's 9:30AM -10:00AM for our Sunday morning music time! We invite all children, youth, adults, Sr. Choir, instrumentalists to come and join us any weeks that you want. Music with adults and teens will start at 9:30AM, the children and youth will join us at 9:45AM. We'll have fun singing, playing instruments (drums, orff, bells, rhythm instruments) and some other fun musical experiences. You don't need to know how to read music, no prior instrumental or singing experience required. Come share the joyful sounds of music!
We invite all teens and adults who like to sing to join us Christmas Eve and Easter Sunday to sing in our Festival Choir.
We are very blessed to have members of our congregation and guests share their musical gifts playing various instruments......guitar, trumpet, euphonium, oboe, drums, violin, mandolin, clarinet! We invite children, youth and adults who play instruments to share your talents! Dust off your instruments, we'll help you get back to playing!
You do not need to know how to read music to ring bells...we will teach you everything you need to know! Handbells are part of our Sunday morning music program.
Are you a dancer? Liturgical dance is another way to share God's gift of music.
If you have an instrument that you are not playing and do not plan to play, please contact our church office or the Reading Musical Foundation (610-376-3395) about donating your instrument. RMF is a non-profit organization. They have a program to provide donated instruments to children in Berks County whose families can not afford to rent or purchase instruments.
